Description
The FR R1012 loudspeaker is a compact two-way vented system and the most powerful of the full range product line.This system is based on a 12 inch neodymium cone driver with 100 mm voice coil integrated in a bass reflex enclosure and a one inch neodymium high frequency compression driver coupled to a symmetrical constant directivity horn with a coverage angle of 70 degrees. The horn is lathed from a block to fade out appearing resonances quickly. The enclosure is of trapezoidal shape to reduce cabinet reflection causing colourations. It is constructed with 18 mm Finnish birch plywood glued together using dado joints to assure the highest quality of robustness. The transducers are protected by an aluminium grid with octagonal holes, designed for maximal strength and acoustical transparency. The removable foam attached to the grid protects the driver from splash water and dust. The black textured semi-matt paint makes the enclosure water repellent. Two ergonomically designed pocket handles assure comfortable portability. Two Speakon® male connectors assure reliable electrical connections and the possibility to feed the signal through the system. A passive network, utilizing polypropylene capacitors, is used to reduce hysteretic effects.It is recommended to extend the low frequency range with a bass system such as the reflex system LF R1018 or the horn system LF H1018 for well-balanced sound reproduction.
